    A True Horror.

    23 April 2011
This is a fantastic horror movie which set the bench mark for all horror films. When this movie came out in the early 70's nobody had seen anything like it hence why it was banned for some time and believe me you can see why. This film deserves massive credit and there are still scenes to this day that will shock and scare you, (watch out for the spider walk.) The last scenes of the film are fantastic as max von sydow and jason miller try to drive the demon out of Regan. (Linda Blair.) Also with a chilling soundtrack this is a great horror movie that still stands tall to this day.

    more revolting than scary

    06 December 2008
1970's horror film that was inspired by a real life exorcism which took place in 1949. The Exorcist was the highest grossing film in the year it was released, and is often given the title of being the scariest film of all time. 12 year old Regan begins to develop strange symptoms and when she is sent to a priest by her mother, he suspects that she is possessed. The Exorcist may have been shocking in its heyday but it has been so overhyped that any frightening moments seem pretty tame by today's standards. That's not to say that it's not still an effective horror film, but it's more revolting than scary, and the film has been parodied so much that it's hard to take seriously. The Exorcist is not as chilling as you'd expect.
