Science-fiction thriller The Chronicles of Riddick is the sequel to sleeper hit Pitchblack. Featuring the night-visioned muscle man once more, the film involves Riddick in a fight for the universe as he is recruited to help stop the evil planet destroying necromongers. The question of how there was possibly enough demand to give Riddick more screen time after his first outing is quite a mystery, and indeed, the Chronicles of Riddick proves to be predictably awful. Not even Judy Dench can lend anything useful to what is a dull, uninspiring and tired film. Impressive effects, graphics and sets don't cover up the giant sized problems with the plot, dialogue and acting. That said the whole film looks like an absolute masterpiece compared to the original…
