    I am a great fan of Peter Jackson's earlier work, and also a frequent blockbuster viewer, so I actually went to see this movie with a positive expectation: I was utterly disappointed. It proves again that a minimal plot cannot fill a three-hour movie, no matter how many special effects throw at it. The movie is almost split into three parts: some sort of a prologue to explain the characters and find the island, then mindless action on the island, and then King Kong in New York. This wooden layout increases the feeling of complete boredom that I felt about half an hour into the movie, and that sadly never left. Naomi Watts' only part in the last two bits that I just described was to look up to Kong's face and either cry, scream, or look utterly sad. The final two hours of the movie hardly have any conversation at all.
