Wasnt a bad Romero film but Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead were far far better. Didnt see much to blow my mind as they say.

Seen 2 other reviews saying the ending was weak, I felt it was OK. The whole film was well done. Worth your time looking at it.

    OK but a bit underwhelming

The introductory credits roll over grainy black-and-white footage of zombies taking over the earth and by the time we start into the film, the world is already in a state where they have taken most of it over. The action sequences start off decently, and it's interesting to see the start of the zombies actually communicating and beginning to reason, however after the initial sequence the film feels like it spends too much time on the weak sub-plot with 'the man' controlling the city, and not enough on the actual zombie action. It's not a bad film, but it didn't really deliver for me and at the end I just felt a bit underwhelmed.

    zombies!

    06 December 2008
The fourth of George Romero's hugely influential Zombie series, Land of the Dead is also the first to use digital special effects. Set in Pittsburgh in a world where zombies have taken over, Land of the Dead sees a divide, not only between human and zombie but also between those who live in an exclusive walled area and those who must scavenge for survival on the dangerous streets. New tensions mean that things are about to change. You'd think that Romero that would struggle to match his other films in terms of brilliance but instead he succeeds in delivering a gore-filled horror which is every bit as stomach-churning to watch. Land of the Dead has plenty of energy, action and flair and manages to make some serious social and political points as well as gleefully providing more than enough zombie feasting to keep any horror fan satisfied.
