A bit of a ‘boys film’, but enjoyable nonetheless. It is more thrilling than your average early nineties ‘macho action’ flick and is probably one of Jean Claude Van Damme and John Woo’s best films. There are fantastic camera angles and action shots kept at a fast pace with attention to detail that is hard to beat.
Van Damme is undertaking a mission to discover the mystery of a murdered tramp, killed because he got involved in a dangerous and horrific new sport - that Van Damme intends to sort out…This movie is jam packed with violence, and features numerous bloody gunshot wounds, facial snake bites, arrows through the neck, decapitations, bloody corpses, exploding brains… You get the idea.
If you fancy a relaxing family movie then avoid, but if you love action films, this is a must-see.
