    Directed and written by Richard Curtis, Love Actually is a seasonal film set at Christmas-time which looks at the lives and relationships of a variety of different characters, as they fall in and out of love. Featuring a porn actor, a prime minister, a cheating husband and an aging singer among others, the film preaches a pretty simple message of love while looking at its different forms. Love Actually is a decent film which has some amusing moments and good performances. However, it really does load on the schmaltziness big-time, and by the end it all feels pretty sickly. The only couple that has much of an emotional impact is Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman who provided a nice break from what is otherwise a sappy film. Really would have been better too if there were less storylines and more focus on the actual characters.

    For a christmas time romantic comedy, I think it's pretty watchable and enjoyable. There's a little bit for everyone, and Hugh Grant is great as the PM.
