Why oh why has such a poor TV show made the switch to the big screen and then stayed there? And what’s worse is that ‘Mr Bean’s Holiday’ is arguably the worst ‘Bean’ offering yet. The dim-witted Bean wins a local raffle and his prize is a ticket to France and a camcorder to document his predictably ill-fated journey. Let the mayhem begin. Reviewing ‘Mr Bean’s Holiday’ is a difficult task because everyone who has seen Rowan Atkinson’s creation in action will know exactly what it is all about – there is nothing new here. Without much dialogue, there is only so much humour to be taken from Mr Bean’s physical behaviour and to be honest, time ran out on the character many moons ago. Every scene is predictable as Bean suffers one disastrous accident after another and while the eccentric Bean is still just about likeable, it is not enough.
