    The Scorpion King is a spin-off of The Mummy Returns set many years earlier. Former WWF Wrestler The Rock plays Mathayus, an assassin sent to kill the sorcerer who is leading the evil Memnon to victory over the free world. However, she is just too damn beautiful, so he ends up kidnapping her instead in a turn of events that leads to him becoming the Scorpion King. Well, The Scorpion King is not a film that will probably last the test of time, and it looks highly doubtful that anyone (apart from maybe young teenage boys) will be singing its praises. Alright so it does pass the time and provides both mindless fantasy and a bit of light relief, with its pure silliness. At least it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously and it should satisfy those wanting easy entertainment. The Scorpion King is certainly not great though.
