Despite what you may think (or hope for) this is not a documentary about ageless rock god Sting. It is instead a 1973 classic film starring and Paul Newman Robert Redford. Set in 1930s Chicago, two young con man set out for revenge after a friend is ruthlessly murdered by a big time mob boss. With some clever tricks, delightful deception and a wonderfully misleading plot the film plays out to an exciting end. There is just so much to admire about this movie. The chemistry between these two great actors is the main highlight and despite being over 30 years old ‘The Sting’ stands the test of time - offering something for everybody. As well as the impressive acting the storyline is superb and surprisingly sophisticated for its time. This movie also manages to be very funny in places – a difficult task for any film trying to remain a serious piece of drama at the same time.
