Synopsis

During the late 19th century, famed monster hunter Dr. Gabriel Van Helsing (Jackman) heads to Eastern Europe to battle with Count Dracula (Roxburgh), the Wolf Man (Kemp), and Frankenstein's Monster (Hensley).     It all sounded so promising… a combination of classic monsters all rolled in to one action packed film featuring Dracula, Mr Hyde, the Wolf Man and Frankenstein…. and what did they do with the opportunity? They made what can only be described as a horrendously bad film with no redeeming qualities. None! Really, Van Helsing is that bad. It’s one big CGI overdose which leaves you wondering how they managed to make such a boring film with characters they had available. Van Helsing is pure twaddle that’s not even entertaining in a mindless kind of way, the action is dull and the 'horror' laughable. Monster hunter Van Helsing is teamed up with Anna, a beautiful vampire hunter and the excrutiatingly annoying monk sidekick Carl to take on big bad Dracula. To be honest the meandering plot is the least of the film’s worries compared to the acting, dialogue, effects…. Need I go on?
