one of the best films of all time

Classic Hitchcock film Vertigo was not well-received at the time of its release but has since been acclaimed as a film-noir masterpiece. Vertigo sufferer and former Detective, John Ferguson, is asked to investigate the beautiful Madeline whose husband fears she is insane. However, Ferguson soon becomes unhealthily fixated with his subject. Vertigo really does build tension and suspense superbly, with spiral imagery, and atmospheric music. You can't help but be grabbed by the film with its fantastic performances, brilliant dialogue and gripping mystery. It's dark and twisty, and never has a dull moment. Vertigo really is Hitchcock at his finest. It's not only one of the greatest films he's made but one of the best films of its genre.
