Synopsis

After a tribe of vicious Comanches murder members of his family and destroy their homestead, Ethan Edwards (John Wayne) vows to stop at nothing to find the missing Debbie (Natalie Wood).     Classic Western featuring the notorious John Wayne, The Searchers is widely regarded as one of the best films of its genre. It promises the 'Biggest, Roughest, Toughest…and Most Beautiful Picture ever made!' and actually delivers in what is a very watchable and engaging film. John Wayne plays Ethan Edwards, a Civil War Veteran who sets out to find his niece who has been taken by Comanche Indians. Edward's intentions gradually become less clear as his nephew accompanying him on the journey doubts whether Edward's means to save his niece or kill her. The Searchers is totally absorbing, and the complexity of John Wayne's character means there is never any risk of being bored. Adventure, action and plenty of drama make the film really entertaining and for fans of Westerns then this is without a doubt one of the best.
