A lonely young boy with a love of books becomes drawn into a timeless world of fabulous creatures - a world that only he can save from certain destruction as he discovers that he is the hero of The Neverending Story.
Another 80's classic and one that takes me back to my childhood just on hearing the themetune..A wonderful fantasy adventure of which the like you rarely see nowadays. Dodgy effects don't ruin a magical story.
One of the best fantasy films ever made. The story revolves around young hero Bastian as he stumbles upon a mysterious story-book and eventually is sucked into the magical world of ‘Fantastica’ and becomes part of this breathtaking story. There are some really terrific conceptions throughout the film – racing snails, giant talking turtles, a tricycle-riding ‘rock biter’ and the loveable luckdragon. What more do you want from an afternoon’s entertainment? ‘The Neverending Story’ has the creativity, inspiration and emotion that are sadly lacking from many of today’s fantasy tales. It isn’t perfect but is surely a true classic of the genre and a film that should be used an example to show that special effects are not everything. Just don’t mention the sequels!
