    Nazi-zombie cash-in

    06 December 2008
Oasis of the Zombies is in fact the American title for this French film 'L'Abîme des Morts-Vivants' which is itself a version of the Spanish film 'La tumba de los muertos vivientes'. Confused? Watching the movie might not clear anything up… Directed by cult director Jesus Franco, the film focuses on an expedition searching for lost Nazi gold which now happens to be guarded by a group of Nazi Zombies (the original video release was called Bloodsucking Nazi Zombies, which pretty much sums up the entire film in three words). Released in 1981, you can’t escape the feeling that was really just an attempt to cash in on the craze for zombie-flicks, as the acting, script, plot, music and general feel of the film are all lacking in any kind of quality. Of course, the film just about falls in to the ‘so-bad-it’s-good’ category, and some of the nazi-zombies do at least look impressive.
