Synopsis

Who said that robots and computers could never possess the capacity for feelings, creativity or love? It’s an undying quest for an android named Andrew (Robin Williams), otherwise listed as an NDR-114 robot purchased as a household appliance by patriarch Richard Martin (Sam Neill) for his family. The Martins, including their two daughters and granddaughter, treat Andrew as a real person, but his increasing creativity and compassion makes them wonder: Is Andrew just well-programmed, or is he becoming human? Over the course of two centuries, Andrew sets out on a journey of self-discovery to find out what it is to be human, including the faults, frailties and mortality inherent in Earth’s creatures.

    Brilliant

Actually to say Brilliant is an understatement this film touches upon a delicate matter of humanity, can a robot be human?
This film is not only well written and well thought about it is also very touching, i can imagine the story depicted in this truly original film to be an accurate representation of an artificial life forms journey through self discovery and of his path to sentience.
Robbin Williams Plays the leading role of "Andrew" a unique and one of a kind robot with actual intelligence i couldn't think of a more perfect man for the job, he plays the part extraordinarily and the written role suites his acting style exponentially, i find his performance to be touching and faultless.

In my view one of the best films of all time.
