Owen Wilson redeems this from disaster

There is one thing and one thing alone that saves this film from being utterly forgettable – and that is Owen Wilson. He is given license to create havoc and while this is nothing new (come on, he practically plays the same role every time) this is Wilson’s niche and most of the laughs stem from this. Wilson aside, there is a fairly wishy-washy love story and the rest of the jokes are very repetitive and obvious. It’s basically another quickly put together teen comedy that was churned out in time for the summer holidays. ‘You, Me and Dupree’ is a waste of a decent cast – another example of sloppy and impatient directing in an attempt to maximise profits.
