Synopsis

Tom Berenger stars in this stylish Ridley Scott-directed thriller as Mike Keegan, a down-to-earth detective from the Bronx who is assigned to protect a high-society beauty, Claire Gregory (Mimi Rogers), who has witnessed a murder and can identify the killer. While Mike’s devoted wife, Ellie (Lorraine Bracco), the savvy daughter of a cop, cleans the windows, Mike accompanies Claire to charity benefits and extravagant parties, and makes himself at home in her million-dollar apartment. Gradually he falls under her high-class spell, while she appreciates his unaffected simplicity, and soon there is more going on than witness protection. But when the killer kidnaps Keegan’s wife and child and offers to trade them for Claire, the detective has a real problem on his hands.
