scandal

1960's film which scandalised American society in its use and glamorisation of violence and blazed a trail for other films to come. Bonnie and Clyde is based on the real life crime spree of a couple in the Depression era. After falling in love, the pair embark on a string of violent bank robberies but it's only a matter of time before the law catches up with them. Bonnie and Clyde is still as appealing as it was forty years ago and to be honest still as shocking. The two characters are totally absorbing, and they engage with the audience in a way that makes it impossible not to be on their side. Bonnie and Clyde is unforgettable, and while it may not be strictly truthful to real events, it has a power and charm of its own.
