Chinatown

If you want to see Jack Nicholson at his best, then don’t hesitate to watch this film. Chinatown is simply brilliant, fantastic, and marvelous – every good word available in the dictionary perfectly describes Chinatown. Director Roman Polanski captures the spirit of film noir with Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway giving good acting performances. What I especially like about Nicholson’s performance is that he keeps it cool and doesn’t overdo his sometimes eccentric behavior. Everything about his performance is well timed and fits perfectly into place. It’s a good detective story filled with a dark sense of humour and maturity that this film takes films unto another level. The last hour or so can be disappointing for some as it does die down a little but because of the excellent performances from the cast, this film holds it nerve.
