He is known for having the highest grand final score in the history of pro surfing by scoring 19.9 Out of 20 at The Quiksilver Pro Fiji in 2004. That is until Kelly Slater eclipsed this in 2005 at Teahupoo in the final with a perfect 20.0 out of 20.0.
