Nancy Jane Meyers is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. She is the daughter of Irving H. Meyers (in business) and Patricia Meyers (a designer; maiden name, Lemisch). She is often referred to as the most important female writer/director in Hollywood, not only because of the desirable roles she creates for actresses, but also because of the ease with which viewers can relate to the humor, warmth, and strength of her characters. Moreover, her movies have been consistently popular, which has in turn greatly benefited the film-making industry.
