- Willa directed Village of the Damned (1960), based on John Wyndham's sci-fi novel The Midwich Cuckoos. Rilla was also responsible, with Geoffrey Barclay and the American screenwriter Stirling Silliphant, for the adaptation. Costing only $ 82,000 to make, the film grossed $ 1.5m in the US and Canada alone.
