- John Hawkes (born September 11, 1959) is an American film and television actor. He is known for his portrayal of Bugsy in The Perfect Storm and as the Jewish merchant Sol Star on the HBO series Deadwood. In 2010 his performance in Winter's Bone earned him his first Academy Award nomination.
