- Shirley Ann Manson (born August 26, 1966) is a Scottish musician and actress, best known internationally as the lead singer of the Madison, Wisconsin-based alternative rock band Garbage. Manson was based in her home city of Edinburgh for much of her career, commuting to United States to record with Garbage. Since 2006, she has relocated to Los Feliz, Los Angeles where she is now based. Manson quickly gained media attention for her quirky looks, fashion sense and forthright opinions. Manson began to write and record solo material after Garbage went on hiatus in late 2005, and in 2008 was cast in her first professional acting role on the second season of as a series regular Catherine Weaver, an antagonist T-1001 Terminator.
