- Vladimir Alenikov was born in the Russian city of Leningrad. Alenikov's first widespread success came through a series of children's films featuring the characters "Petrov and Vasechkin," becoming Russian national treasures. His most recent directorial work, "The Gun (from 6 to 7:30 pm)," was produced by Front Line Films. "The Gun" was an official selection for the World Competition at the Montreal World Film Festival.
