- Girls Aloud are a British girl group that were created on the ITV1 talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The group, consisting of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, have been successful in achieving a string of 20 consecutive UK Top-10 singles (including four number one's and four number two's, and also 15 top five singles), and two UK number one albums. All their albums are certified platinum, and they have been nominated for five BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise".
