Don’t deny it – everybody has a soft spot for Phil Collins. His music was the sound of the 80s (along with Michael Jackson and Prince) which I know you had at least one record in your collection…I had about three but that is not the point! The point is, in this documentary, Phil Collins recounts how he made he made his music for his album ‘Face Value’. His songs had massive appeal and even today it sounds timeless. The film is filled with interviews and unseen footage from his performances. My favourite scene involves where he made notations about where beats and the horns would come in – he writes it down like he is doing Morse code! It is an amazing video so dust off that vinyl record and watch this as you take a trip down memory lane.
