Synopsis

The story of the making of The Dark Side Of The Moon featuring interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason as well as Alan Parsons and Storm Thorgerson.

Prior to 1973, Pink Floyd had maintained a relentless gigging schedule and by the time they came to record a new album had already created the basis for what would become The Dark Side record. It would be the first album where Roger Waters would supply all the lyrics as well as the basic ‘concept. With the timeless qualities of its production and musicality, allied to the hypnotic evocation of its central themes – alienation, paranoia, madness, war and death, The Dark Side Of The Moon would become the album that would dominate the 70’s and 80’s (with a record number of consecutive weeks in the charts). Thirty years later it still strikes a chord with a new generation of music lovers.

    a beginner's guide...

    06 December 2008
A classic album from a good band. This album will bring back memories who love the band and even if you are not, this documentary will give a good beginner guide and insight into the band. It’s not in-depth as you probably would want it to be but it certainly gives the audience enough to take on board. The interviews with the members and people close to them are good.
