Last year, 45 year old prison worker Bernie Sharp was looking 51 – or so said one hundred straight-talking strangers on a street in Manchester. When it comes to looking older than you actually are, there’s no fire without smoke – in Bernie’s case, a predilection for roll-ups – and lots of them. Smoking, single motherhood, an eyebrow-plucking phobia and a bad junk food habit, had all combined to pile the years on Bernie – and it was up to Nicky Hambleton-Jones and her time-fighting team to prise them off again. Cosmetic doctor Patrick Bowler plumped up Bernie’s sagging skin with botox and fillers; Dentist Joe Oliver gave her a brand new Hollywood smile; hairdresser Nicky Clarke breathed life back into her barnet – and make-up artist Louise Constad tamed those werewolf eyebrows.
