This is fantastic. Drawing from the Tom & Jerry school of cute violence, Pib & Pog is portrayed as a children’s television show (with a women providing lovely and polite narration – ‘Oh Pib, you rascal’), but the content is pure dastardly violence. Pib shoots Pog with a gun, Pog stuffs Pib’s head into a bucket of acid, and both of them generally try to destroy the other. Very cleverly done, the Claymation is colourful and inventive, and the story is simpleminded brilliance. While I’m sure the novelty would wear off over a whole season, I wish there was more of this. Really great.
