Terrible short story - bad plot and animation

I could not disagree more with the review from Japhet B, I can only assume he is a friend or one of the creators of this movie.

This short story was not only confusing but poorly written and created. I can not fathom why an old man would buy a live mouse and what appears to be a mouse trap in the same box?! Why then when he stupidly leaves it on his table to easily escape does he set about catching the mouse again?

The whole story is about the old man trying to re-capture this mouse, with repetitive sequences and poorly executed humor.

The animation itself is very amateurish and the sound effects do not match to the actions. After watching this a second time to check I can confirm that this wasnt down to my 20MB broadband connection lagging.

Spoiler : He fakes his death to catch the mouse.

I have no idea why the creators of this short story bothered to waist not only their time but mine also.

    simple, dry and brilliant

    06 December 2008
This Claymation short, about how an old man deals with a mouse he receives in the post, is absolutely wonderful to watch. We see the old man attempt to catch the escaped rodent, and some of the tactics he chooses are very clever. The first thing you notice about ‘Boxed In’ is how much effort must have gone into making it. All of the sound effects are so crisp and remarkably specific to what is happening. When the old man opens the box with the mouse, for example, each flap opens with a different cardboard sound. The animation is also amazing, and the detail of the old man and his movements is fantastic. It’s certainly not the most upbeat or fast-paced animated short, but ticking along at its own comfortable speed there’s a charming story here, and it’s told with skill.
