Overview

Synopsis:

At the end of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," Sarah Connor vanquished the Terminator sent from the future to kill her 15-year-old son, John. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous, complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that still more enemies from the future and the present could attack at any moment. Sarah stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying her life -- and perhaps the world. John knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but he is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" represents an exciting reinvention of the Terminator franchise, in which the strong and intrepid Sarah discovers that protecting her son and stopping the rise of the machines is more difficult than she had ever imagined.

    Underrated sci-fi show

    Like many people, when I first heard about a Terminator series I was highly sceptical about it. I didn’t think it would work as a show. I was so glad that I was proven wrong.

    People have criticized the show for being boring and not having enough action, which is a fair criticism for certain episodes of the show. However, T: TSCC is an underrated television show. The show surprised me with the good, dramatic storylines yet remaining faithful to the mythology that James Cameron introduced in the first 2 Terminator movies. It’s never easy to step into Linda Hamilton’s shoes but Lena Headey did a great job as Sarah Connor. Thomas Dekker shows the growth in John Connor that we all imagined him to be. He shows the constant conflict of being a growing teenager whilst accepting that the fate of the world rest in his hands and the second season in particular shows this off. By far the best character is Cameron (Summer Glau) who is far more convincing as a female terminator than Kristanna Loken in T3.

    The sad thing about this show is that it was cancelled, just when it was starting to head in an interesting direction as it ended on a massive cliffhanger. Maybe sometime in the future this particular storyline will be resolved...let’s hope we don’t have to wait for Judgment Day for that to happen!

      There was many many nuances and abilities that I have no doubt many disinterested people would not even see.
      The last reviewer praised the acting abilities and I can add that to the rest of the cast, including Leven Rambin (to the right of this post), who played Riley. She was the girl who wanted to be loved after her lifelong hell in the tunnels.
      The show had a fantastic family orientation to it too and additional characters played exceedingly good roles.
      Very interesting show with plots etc that would not even dawn on people. For instance, who knew Derek contributed towards Cameron's tissue growth? (He never).
