Overview

Synopsis:

Steve Forrest stars as the head of a Special Weapons and Tactics team in a fictional U.S. city in the original S.W.A.T., a realistic police show before its time. Executive producers Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg planned a two-hour episode of The Rookies involving S.W.A.T. training under a tough cop, but ABC liked the show so much they ordered a new series centered around Forrest and the S.W.A.T. team. Lt. Dan ï¿½Hondoï¿½ Harrelson (Forrest) is a tough cop, and not just a cop, but a vulnerable and human person, and certainly not a superman. Portraying his wife, Betty, is Ellen Weston (Revenge of the Stepford Wives); other prominent members of the highly trained and heavily armed team are Sgt. David 'Deacon' Kay (Rod Perry) and Officer Jim Street (Robert Urich).
