Synopsis:

James May discovers how inventors and their inventions changed the way we live our lives in the 20th century, from the creation of the teenager to modern warfare. New tools and technology took us into space, took our cities both up into the sky and down into the earth and brought the world closer together. James explores how the wealth of invention of one century revolutionised the individual and society, from cars and skyscrapers to medical innovations and the mapping of DNA.
