The world famous Melbourne Cup is the backdrop to the story of young jockey Damien Oliver who enters the prestigious Cup  - one of the world's most exciting and challenging races - despite having lost both his famous father and younger brother to tragic racing accidents. Following his brother's death, the only person Damien can rely on is legendary Irish trainer Dermot Weld (Brendan Gleeson - In Bruges, The Guard). Despite being written off by the racing community, Weld believes in the young jockey's raw talent and knows Damien can only succeed if he overcomes his personal demons. Featuring stunning race sequences and a great cast, The Cup is a touching and true life-story of personal triumph over adversity.
