Steve McQueen is a bored Boston millionaire businessman who is tired of being part of the "Establishment." He arranges a brilliant bank robbery which nets millions, then pays off his eight assistants (which include Yaphet Kotto and Jack Weston) and banks nearly $3 million for himself in Switzerland. Working on sheer intuition, insurance investigator Faye Dunaway suspects that McQueen masterminded the heist. Unfortunately, she falls madly in love with him. She thinks she can get McQueen off if he returns the money. But McQueen tells Dunaway that he is about to pull off another caper, and asks her to meet him in a local cemetary after the job is done. Dunaway appears with cop Paul Burke. The loot is in a garbage can and McQueen leaves instructions with a messenger - 1) keep the Rolls provided or 2) bring the money!
